Fyrirlestur um rannsóknarverkefni Sigrúnar Ingu Hrólfsdóttur við Listasafn Reykjavíkur um starfsferil Hildar Hákonardóttur. Hildur er fædd árið 1938 og hefur á löngum starfsferli sínum tekið á málefnum samtíma síns og nýtt til þess fjölbreytta miðla, þó mest vefnað. Hún var virk í Rauðsokkahreyfingunni og var ein fárra kvenna í SÚM auk þess sem hún var skólastjóri Myndlista- og handíðaskóla Íslands frá 1975-78 og á þannig þátt í mótun myndlistarmenntunar á Íslandi.

Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir er myndlistarmaður og á að baki öflugan feril bæði undir eigin nafni og með Gjörningaklúbbnum. Sigrún stundaði myndlistarnám við Myndlista- og handíðaskóla Íslands og Pratt Institute í New York. Sigrún lauk meistaraprófi í heimspeki frá Háskóla Íslands árið 2016. Hún var deildarforseti myndlistardeildar Listaháskóla Íslands 2016 - 2021.

Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir is an artist who has worked both under her own name and as a founding member of the art collective Gjörningaklúbburinn / The Icelandic Love Corporation.

Sigrún studied art at The Icelandic College of Arts and Pratt Institute in New York and graduated with a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Iceland in 2016. She was the dean of the  department of fine art at The Iceland University of the Arts 2016 - 2021.

Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir will introduce her research project within the Reykjavík Art Museum, on artist and weaver Hildur Hákonardóttir (b. 1938) who in her long career has addressed many of the issues of her time through a variety of media. Her work focuses on gender politics, social issues, cultivation and environmental issues. She was the principal of the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts from 1975-78 and played a big role in shaping art education in Iceland.
